Clare Island Ferry

The Clare Island Ferry Company is owned and operated by Brian & Alan OGrady, natives of Clare Island whose family have been operating the Clare Island Ferry service since 1880. The cruise from Roonagh Quay (west of Louisburgh) to Clare Island takes just 10 minutes on board our Clare Island fast ferry. The journey gives you just enough time to view and photograph a most spectacular coastline which includes Achill Island, the Nephin mountain range, the islands of Clew Bay, Croagh Patrick (Irelands famous pilgrimage mountain) and Inishturk.As you arrive into the harbour on Clare Island, the first thing that will strike you is the beautiful sandy beach to your right, which makes an ideal playground for children and provides for safe swimming.
