Tabalet EastWest
About Tabalet EastWest
Tabalet EastWest refers to the reopening and rebranding of the historic Estudio de grabación Tabalet, a legendary recording studio located in L'Horta de Valencia, Spain (specifically in Alboraya).
Originally founded simply as Tabalet, it was a monumental site for the cultural and musical heritage of the Valencian Community, historically recording everything from traditional folk music to local cinema and contemporary artists. Reopened as Tabalet EastWest, the studio merges its rich analog history with modern production capabilities, hosting diverse music projects ranging from contemporary jazz to experimental music.
The name plays on two distinct cultural concepts:
• Tabalet: A traditional Valencian percussion instrument (a small drum) that serves as the rhythmic backbone of local street festivals and folk music.
• EastWest: Refers to its physical location on the eastern coast of Spain, while bridging classic western recording techniques with international avant-garde and local community arts.
If you are looking to get in touch with them or check out projects mixed at the facility, you can explore the Tabalet EastWest Instagram Page.
